I’ll try to answer some of the questions to give you information to use in when choosing a mobile phone. The main consideration when buying a phone is to choose your service provider plan you want first and then find out what phones will work with this plan before you go shopping.
When buying a refurbished cell phone are you getting a problem from someone else?
When you buy a new phone at a cellular provider or store, they program the phone when you subscribe to their service. Activating your phone is usually done after you’ve charged up the battery at home. So it could be 24 to 48 hours or even more to find out if your phone has any problems, especially with service.
There is nothing more disappointing or annoying than to find out after all that time invested in getting your phone up and running only to find out your phone is not working properly.
Now you have to go back to the store for the phone to be checked out or spend lots of time on the phone with tech support to determine if the faulty phone is going to function properly or have to be replaced. Once the determination is made by the store or technical support person that your phone needs to be replaced you have to return the phone to the store or ship your phone to them and wait for a new phone. More time drained in returning the phone.
So, your new phone is replaced with another phone and the phone you returned is sent back to the manufacturer or their authorized repair facility. There the phone is individually checked and the technician determines whether the problem is repairable. The phone is checked out and then repaired. Then checked again. This is a refurbished phone. This phone has been checked at least twice before it is released to go back on the market for sale.
Chances are good that this phone will not give you any problems.
What are the benefits of buying a refurbished cell phone?
The mobile phone has been checked at least twice before you get the phone. You can try out the phone for less money than a new phone. These are especially nice for people who have fulfilled their contract with their service provider and want a new phone without having to sign up again for two years to get a new style phone.
Are you really saving money money when you buy a refurbished cell phone?
When you purchase refurbished you are getting a very nice price break. This could be anywhere from ten percent to fifty percent depending on the brand and model. It allows you to get more phone for your dollars and if you buy from a reputable reseller there will be a warranty on the phone of at least 30 days. The money you save will allow you to buy additional accessories for your phone.
Is a factory reconditioned cell phone the right choice for you?
When buying refurbished cell phones you are getting a phone that has been individually tested by a technican before it goes back on the market for sale. You will be able to buy at a reduced price getting more phone for your dollars spent. You will get a warranty. Refurbished or reconditioned phones don’t look used they look just like a new phone.
People looking at your phone will never know that you didn’t go buy the phone new and you can be happy that you got the phone you wanted at a generously reduced price that was kinder to you checkbook.
Saving money is great fun and the shopping experience is more fun for me if I have invested my free time scouting out the best deal for my dollars.
